To her surprise, she was contacted immediately to add her name to a long line of Penthouse, Hustler and Playboy cover girls (in fact, she holds the distinction of being the only woman ever to be featured simultaneously on both covers of Playboy and Penthouse magazines. Following her close friends, Tera sent her photo to be considered for a shoot with Playboy magazine. Having earned a Bachelor's degree in microbiology from Boise State University and continuing her education to become a registered nurse, she worked in this field for several years until she eventually moved to California and took up modeling again. These early experiences in the fashion industry no doubt helped her become one of the most successful performers-turned-business-women in the adult industry.
